Making (unbiased) astrophysical inferences from LIGO/Virgo’s probabilistic gravitational wave transient catalog (GWTC) is a perilous endeavor, requiring careful use of many data products in a sound statistical framework.  In this seminar I will review some of the techniques the field has relied on thus far, how they are becoming insufficient.
