Meeting - Service Cell
Marco provided an overview of the outcomes from the SC ad hoc meeting. The primary conclusion was that the Service Cell should be designed specifically for the BDF target. However, the possibility of using the Service Cell for other radioactive waste remains open, pending a decision on whether the current size and design is sufficient or if expansion is necessary.
The document must be finalized in preparation for the Radiaoctive Waste Steering Board meeting scheduled for January 21. The immediate priority is advancing the document. A new structure has been established, incorporating an enhanced executive summary and an expanded technical section. Specific contributors will be assigned to sections of the document to develop the content further.
Key actions include:
-
All contributors must actively work on the document. Sections will be assigned, and regular updates will be reviewed to maintain progress.
-
Paolo and Gerald will prepare a comprehensive list of radioactive waste candidates for the Service Cell. This list should emphasize not only object sizes but also the processing area required for final disposal.
- Identification of 2-3 key business cases driven by object size and weight is crucial. Jean-Louis out of this table will check the compatibility of the cell as designed for BDF with the potential other objects.
-
The table of objects will be detailing the equipement groups owners.
- A cooperation capture will outline operational capacity, detailing when and in what sequence the Service Cell will be occupied by the BDF target.
-
The example of the ISOLDE hot cell facility will be incorporated to illustrate improvements achieved through dedicated facilities and the capabity to dispose the ISOLDE target.
