Third Town Hall KM3NeT Meeting

Presentation:

The KM3NeT Collaboration is organizing the third Town Hall Meeting to present its status and performances, to promote its multi-messenger programs and to initiate/reinforce projects with external collaborators. KM3NeT is instrumenting two deep-sea neutrino detectors in the Mediterranean Sea, ORCA in France and ARCA in Italy. Thanks to the unprecedented angular resolution, the extended energy range and the full sky coverage, KM3NeT will play an important role in the rapidly evolving multi-messenger field. 

To fulfill these goals, We are planing to organise the meeting as a scithon meeting, half talks, half working sessions. The main idea is to have plenary talks in the morning and reserve the afternoons for working sessions. As we want to have sufficient experts for each subject, we will select only 3 topics. The invited speakers will give a plenary talk and then participate to the working sessions. So far, we have thought to the following subjects:
  1. VHE event interpretation [expert: phemenologists]
  2. Galactic contributions (sources, diffuse) [expert: phemenologists]
  3. KM3NeT alert neutrino follow-up [expert: external observer team members]

 

Location:

The workshop will be held in the Ecole des Houches, close to Chamonix, in front of the French Mont Blanc.

- REGISTRATION -

If you are not able to fill the field "Affiliation" in the registration form don't panic and follow these instructions:

  •  Log in into Indico and go to "my profile"
  •  Go to Settings, Personal Data
  • You probably see the "Affiliation" field in grey and the refresh button in green. If so, click on the refresh button to "toggle synchronization of this field"
  • After that the Affiliation field should become white and you should be able to edit it
  • Save changes and try again to register.
