Introduction to Julia programming and its application in HEP

Description

1-day event designed to introduce students to Particle Physics, Collider Physics at CERN, and Julia Programming for Undergraduate Physics students in Karachi, Pakistan.

Only 15-20 students will be allowed to participate. 

 
 
Introduction to Particle Physics – Dr. Shabbar Raza (Associate Professor at FUUAST, Pakistan)
Introduction to the CMS Experiment – Dr. Muhammad Ansar Iqbal (Postdoctorate fellow at UCLA)
 
 
Tutorials (1.5 hours) Participants will be introduced to Julia programming, along with its use cases in Particle Physics, such as those by scientists at CERN. Participants are encouraged to bring their laptops, and most of the tutorial will be conducted using Google Colab.
