I present recent results in the SMEFiT global EFT analysis of hard-scattering data, focusing on projections for the HL-LHC and future colliders such as the FCC-ee, and their matching to UV-complete models at tree-level and one-loop. I also discuss ongoing progress in topics such as the implementation of RGE effects, fits in different frameworks (kappa, effective couplings), and dedicated studies for the ESPPU26. I will end with some thoughts about the inclusion of flavour observables in the global SMEFT fit.
