Draft:

Present: Gunn, Alex

  • new turbo+controller ordered by A. SInturel (will arrive in January 2025)
  • new gauges+controller ordered by Gunn (ordered from CERN store, should be here in days)
  • need to order a CF40 cross, two CF40 to CF16 zero length adaptors, a CF 16 TEE, a CF 40 to KF40 adaptor, a CF16 to KF 16 adapter and a few helicoflex seals in KF16 and KF40
  • Verify on the cryostat design on KF connection size
  • Alex noticed that we used EVAC ISO seals with Helicoflex seals, and some KF rubber O-rings, so this is a bricolage, new connection will unify and make all metal connections.
  • need to make cable installation request to EN-EL by 18 Oct (do we already have some spare cables coming from the rack AYH6-06 near RF stuff into the ring section15? @Jocelyn Tan)
  • Discuss with Mark on how to setup electronics (PLC, 24 V and relay) for the Pump-speed to Valve control.
  • Get gate valve connector (Amphenol type)
There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
    • 15:00 15:20
AD BCCCA - insulation vacuum 20m

      Some points to discuss:

      1. A. Sinturel has kindly agreed to help us order new turbo pump with 100m cable and controller
      2. He also suggested (1) to remove all the electronics from the ring (gauge and turbo controller) since these are not compatible in radiation area, (2) replace all rubber KF seal with metal seals
      3. Thus we replace full range gauge with standard Penning+Pirani gauge that vacuum group uses
      4. For this we will need the gauges, KF to CF adaptor, a 4 way DN40CF cross and an all metal angle valve in DN40CF
      5. And a request to install 4 new cables to EN-EL (2 for pumps, 2 for gauges)
      6. Establish interlock specifications (pump speed, vacuum reading, by pass for initial pumping, reading on GUI etc...)
