Attendees: Juan, Mateusz, Andre, Leonhard

Apologies: Swathi

Date: October 29

## News

* Please put Friday, SFT retreat, as Duty travel in EDH

## Round The Table

### Leonhard

* More optimal observable figures after some bug fixes
    * more debugging needed
* Plots made from madgraph generated files
* Optimal obversables assume no W-width
* podio data source takes too much memory?
    * 50 MBit/s throughput at the moment
    * memory leak?

* ECFA ECR meeting:
    * Leonhard organiser (1/6) of future collider working group

### Andre

* NTR

### Mateusz

* Timings in workflow not calculated using truncated average, so first event was greatly affecting results because of loading condition data etc.

* New julia release: 1.11,  using new features to use unregistered packages (graphml)
* Julia runtest merged PR, can now put arguments in tests. released as well.
* EventCounter PR for k4FWCore

### Juan

* Chep
    * Spack talk:
        * scott snyder complained about development workflow
        * Marco asked about running things in parallel
        * Talk after: FNAL person presenting LArSoft, talked about using spack for development with a command on top of spack
    * Gaudi talk:
        * Marco commented about upstreaming some reading/writing from Key4hep, similar to what LHCb has, but nothing like this in Gaudi
* New key4hep-release with some fix for Delphes (Birgit)
* Looked at ACTS stuff from the Muon Collider
    * No ACTS-Geo Service, but parts of geometry hard-coded, or write json file
    * Revived ACTS service, started seeding algorithm, trying track fit, all with ODD geometry
        * Then worry about geometry stuff later
        * Track finding not yet working
        * Try what the EIC people are doing? (pointers to be provided by Leonhard); now EIC moved to Jana2 with tracking algorithm could also be interesting
