We're waiting for an RNTuple backport, and then we are ready for the the 6.34 release.
Jakob: we did not yet get feedback from ATLAS. Other changes related to deprecation/Gaudi prevented them from using the dev3 branch. It's a US holiday, so no news today probably.
Danilo: What happens if we don't have their feedback?
Jakob: Need to discuss, let's see tomorrow (Tuesday). I don't think we need to modify the schedule.
Danilo: if we do, we have options.
ACTION all: add/edit the release notes where relevant.
Jack: The builds were green, except one time (has been resolved). Some of the DNS errors in the builds, but early morning build restarts fixes it. Issues, PRs have been assigned. Will double check the forum once more.
Mostly discussed the release and the upcoming workshop.
Jakob: still want to address the target cluster size, and make it power of 2-based. That way all the units for the default options are the same. Will need to rerun AGC to verify/check its impact
Vincenzo: Federica Simone (INFN) would be abvailable for 28 november for a talk on AF in Italy, wanted to check availability.
No conflicts, so we can schedule it.
Marta: Had a meeting with topic coordinators, have a solid list for each topic group now. Second meeting with the same group tomorrow, at 10, to further consolidate. For now 33/35 registrations, if there are more people interested we have some room still (even if beyond the 35).
Danilo: We had some more registration shifts this weekend, we are in good shape. We are thinking carefully about the menu.
Danilo: Will not mention the PoW. It's a bit too soon and anyways we address it in January.
Vincenzo: this week in Valencia to give some training/seminar. Visited some campus facilities to scout for our workshop next year November. They have a nice auditorium, discussing with the AV department regarding costs. It looks like we are getting all the help we need from the university. Also got some quotes on the catering. Need to discuss, also with SFT how we want to proceed.
Stephan: Want to schedule a PPP regarding the thread-safe RDF histogramming, but I have a conflicting appointment this week. Will plan one for a later time.
Stephan: we should document and converge on how we handle deprecations, and how we present them to the users in release notes.
Jonas R.: I can start writing it down in the developer docs, and we can discuss from there.
Jack: We could add a bot that scans the release notes for missing deprecation notices and add it to the CI. This shouldn't be too difficult.
Danilo: Q for Stephan -- Any news on the CHEP proceeding dates?
Stephan: Still negociating with the journal.
