Bearing tests:

Nicholas Lusa presented a mock-up idea for the Ceramic bearing test. The main questions are linked to potential deformation of the bars and plates during RHT that can bias the test.

For the setup, the action items are to investigate:

• Possibility to instrument
• Possibility to load it
• Possibility to use with cable
• Guiding in 3 points
• Try to limit to 750 mm

Action items:

• We should cross check the available measurements on the DEM strands, because what we're using now for the fit is only up to 15 T and we're very sensitive to this in our definition of short sample. We're basing our loadline criteria on a extrapolation.
• We need to cross-check the results for the option 40x1.1, it looks it's done with the 1500 A/mm2 specification. We should do it with 1200 A/mm2
• Once we have the feedback from Patricia, we need to study what is the impact of making some space between coils for cooling.
