  • XRootD 5.7.3 Release
    • Need to release the fix for a bug in XCache and f-stream monitoring not reporting file sizes
    • GitHub Actions builds have already been updated to drop CentOS 7
  • XRootD Development
    • Plans for XRootD 5.8.0 Release
      • Will begin work to clean up CentOS 7 / Python 2 from repository
      • Client improvement presented at CHEP24 to also be included
      • Considering addition of an i686 build to ensure no breakage on 32bit platforms
        • Emulation with QEMU is normally slow, but 32bit build on AMD/Intel architecture is good compromise
      • Ideally would like to add OSG patches to official release in XRootD 5.8.0
        • OSS statistics/monitoring plugin
        • TLS deferred authentication

  • XRootD Website Updates
    • Migrate DNS only for the domain to Cloudflare?
      • Better features, allows creating email routing rules 
    • Still need a solution to redirect correctly from slac.stanford.edu to EOS for documentation files.
    • Potential solutions
      • Commit documentation files to git in the website repository (~1.2G, but 930M is for Doxygen)
      • Move to CERN's Openshift PAAS service, serve files with EOS, but use xrootd.org domain for it
      • Use an OpenStack VM hosting all files and point domain to it
      • Ideally will choose between the above before Q2 2025
