Important: If you do not have a CERN card, please fill in the questionnaire to issue a temporary CERN pass to access the premises. 

What to Expect

Learn essential ski maintenance skills with guidance from our trained volunteers! In your one-hour session, you'll work on:

• Hot waxing techniques
• Edge sharpening
• Basic base repairs

What to Bring

• Your skis/snowboard (clean and dry)
• Work clothes that can get dirty (wax stains!)
• Your own wax (optional - we'll have some available)

Prepare Before Coming

It is recommended that you get at least an idea of what tasks you will perform on your skis. This YouTube playlist can help you:

Important Notes

• Registration is mandatory and spots are limited
• Please cancel if you cannot attend to free up your spot
• All tools and guidance provided, but it will be you doing the maintenance

Sessions

We offer two one-hour slots:

• 6:00 PM → 7:00 PM: First session
  • Participants in this session are asked to arrive 10 minutes early to help set up
• 7:00 PM → 8:00 PM: Second session
  • Participants in this session should plan to stay 10 minutes after to help clean up

 

Location & Access

- Located at IdeaSquare (Building 3179)
- Important: Non-CERN card holders must fill in the visitor registration form for temporary access
- Non-CERN card holders can park in the paid CERN visitor parking
