A generalised picture of colour decoherence in dense QCD media
by
I will discuss the breaking of angular ordering of the radiation off a colour singlet antenna in a dense QCD medium. After reviewing the vacuum baseline result, I will explain how medium effects modify this pattern. While some medium effects had been studied before, previous calculations of the radiation pattern off an antenna in a medium disregarded the modifications due to interactions with the medium during the formation of the antenna. Accounting for this effect enhances the total rate of emission off the antenna, but also promotes the notion of a critical angle from a medium property to a dynamical property. As a consequence, depending on the region of parameter space, colour decoherence can either be delayed or accelerated with respect to previous estimates.
