CERN Venture Connect: ATLAS Underground Cavern visit

We are excited to welcome you to an exclusive tour to the ATLAS detector. To confirm your participation, we kindly ask every participant to register individually via this indico page.

Due to the group size limitations underground, we are required to split the group into two. Please pick one of the options below and register to it until February 18th at latest: 

• Group 1: Atlas Visitor Centre (14:20-15:00) + Atlas Underground (15:00-16:00)
• Group 2: Atlas Visitor Centre (14:20-15:00) + Atlas Underground (16:00-17:00)

Both groups will visit the Atlas Visitor Center together. Each group will then visit the underground site separately: Group 1 at 3pm, followed by Group 2 at 4pm.

Before you register, please read the Safety rules. 

Note that the Science Gateway Exhibition including the CERN shop is located next to the ATLAS Visitor Center. It offers selfguided tours free of charge and is accessible anytime between 9am and 5pm on that day. This might be a nice opportunity for group 2 to bridge between 3pm and 4pm.

Start of the visit

Meeting point is in front of Building 33, CERN Community Support Center (Route de Meyrin 33) at 2pm to start the visit with our guide Jochen. You will be able to print your visitor passes at Building 33.

Lunch

For those of you who want to, we suggest having lunch together at Restaurant 1 inside CERN before the visit. Should you like to join, we will meet you in front of Building 33 at 12:30pm. 

Parking

If you come by car, you can park in the visitor parking located behind Science Gateway. 

12:30 → 12:45 Meet in front of Building 33, CERN Community Center (OPTIONAL)

Meeting point to pick up visitor badges and walk to R1 for lunch
