News

  • New meeting schedule, i.e. monthly 1 hour meetings at 11 CET of the third Thursday of the month.
    • Indico agenda with all dates for 2025 at https://indico.cern.ch/category/17491/
    • Calendar invites for all 2025 events have been sent to all members of the WG. Please contact Stefan if you have not received those.
  • 8 Jan, assembly of DGs, presentation of the WG by Andy.
    • Shall we move foreward with an aequivalent of the Oppenheimer network for EIROforum?
  • TeSS/mTeSS-X - shared and connected platform for gathering meta-data of training material, training events and learning pathways

      • Discussion about restricted access to parts of the catalogue (e.g. also expressed by Eva)
    • A CERN position to work on mTeSS-X will be filled as of March
      • Idea to setup a TeSS instance at CERN and test run it with training material from the high energy physics community
  • Workshop for Online training (Eva)
    • Confirmation for talks by Imperial College, EPFL (turned fusion course into online course), CERN and EMBL, EIROfusion
      • More EIROforum members welcome to present status and plans
    • Invitation sent to Harvard, presentation on CS50 course
    • Looking into a date in April, Proposal to have 3 days with 2 sessions each
      • 90 min sessions with 50 % discussion time, 2-3 speakers max per session, 1 session "before" and 1 "after" lunch
      • Proposing the weeks of 31 March, 7 April, 28 Apri, 12 May, 19 May (Tuesday to Thursday)
        • All please check for conflicts of those weeks!!
  • Followup meeting on knowledge management in fusion on 26 March on "Knowledge capture of technical documentation"

Introduction of ERIC/CERIC to the WG (Laura)

    • Working in the context of ERIC to topics very close to what was discussed in the WG about "benchmark jobs and competency frameworks", a survey on those topics is currenlty being evaluated
      • Laura can present the outcome and next steps sometime before summer to the WG.
