      Roundtable 1h

      Roundtable

      Alex

      Small PRs and reviews.

      University stuff.

      Doga

Corrections for QP and maybe finally qualified.

Got accepted for CSC in Lund.

      Anton

      Setting up stuff with Benjamin.

Joins abstract with Andreas Stefl for connecting the dots presentation.

      Attila

GPU tutorial with CUDA. Works now in jupyter notebooks and well accessible. This also allows multiple clients on a single GPU.
Some issues in between, since allocation was only for CPU at first.

      Stephen

      Finished to write documentation.

Plan to clean up seeding PRs.

      Dimitra

Got accepted for CSC in Lund.

Working on blueprint for muons. Small changes to the converted. We had 2 separate converters. Now combined in a single function.
Paul: We don't need a pair. Longterm, we want to remove detector volumes.
Andreas Salzburger: Internal communication should be compliant to Gen3.
Paul: Material would be also 1:1 convertible.
Andreas Salzburger: WIth detray portals and just filling in the surfaces should be able to be solved soon.
Paul: We might converge to a solution to a single solution.
Paul: Gen1 probably needs to stick until the end of the year.

Multilayers and surfaces: For testing: Return also physical volume to get parents of bounding box.

      Andras Salzburger

      Plans:

      • Meet new team leader in the afternoon.
      • ACTS: digitisation: remove bin-util and use grids instead

      Joana

Investigations why chain on toy-detector failed. Tried again on newest detray-version and last segfault is solved. In double precission find and fit have similar amounts of tracks. In single precission many tracks are lost, but if covariance is set to 1 it magically works.
Not clear how many things we need in double precission, but some operations could be done in double.
Andreas Salzburger: Current units are physics inspired and maybe not the optimum for computation.

Handed in slides and poster abstract for EP-R&D days. Plan to create a poster now.

      Paul

Key4hep tracking meeting went well. Still there is a lot of duplication in the work because groups do not communicate well enough to each other. Trying to make them talk.

HepMC things are in now. There shouldn't be issues with the synchronisation.

Preparing slide for the workshop in May.
