Measurement of quantum information inspired observables at LHC 1h

A few years ago, the study of quantum information principles in high-energy collisions was reignited by a proposal to measure entanglement between top-quark pairs at the LHC. Initially focused on entanglement in these systems, this research has since expanded significantly, revealing a much broader landscape. Today, new studies emerge almost daily, extending these investigations to diverse final states, exploring the fundamental limitations of such measurements, and integrating novel concepts from quantum information science and computing into high-energy physics. Additionally, these principles are now being leveraged to search for physics beyond the Standard Model, with promising early results from the CMS collaboration. In this colloquium, I will provide an overview of how these measurements are performed, highlighting the first experimental results in top-quark pair final states. I will then discuss how these concepts can be extended to both resonant and non-resonant diboson final states.

Speaker: Federica Fabbri (Universita e INFN, Bologna (IT))
