USCMS/IRIS-HEP Analysis Software Training 2025

US/Central
Description

Advanced software is a critical ingredient to scientific research. Training young researchers in the latest tools and techniques is an essential part of developing the skills required for a successful career both in research and in industry.

This two day event plans to discuss:

  1. Columnar analysis and uproot

  2. Distributed analysis and Dask
  3. Data Visualization techniques and libraries
  4. Coffea columnar analysis framework
  5. The Coffea-Casa analysis facility
  6. Statistical tools

Basic familiarity with basic shell, Python and Git will be assumed.

This is an in person event held at Rice University just before the USCMS annual collaboration meeting.

Some travel support will be provided to attendees, supported by IRIS-HEP. See the Application Form (link in sidebar) for more information and to apply.

This event is sponsored by the National Science Foundation through Cooperative Agreement PHY-2323298 (Institute for Research and Innovation in Software (IRIS-HEP)) with support from the Princeton Institute for Computational Science and Engineering (PICSciE) and the Princeton University Physics Department.
