Discussion:
- Gunn gives a brief presentation to highlight the new gun version 5 and comparison to present russian AD gun.
- Important points and differences as well as links to more detailed work (Jira) and report are given along with CATIA ST number
- The gun design (at least ceramic-metal joint part) is based on current AD gun which has been working reliably, suggestion is not to wait for thermo-mechanical simulation, its the risk BI-XEI takes
- Assembly drawing printouts were presented, Nicolas took some notes on it
- Points to follow up on BI-XEI side:
- Expansion solenoid back plate opening with magnet team (Luke)
- What will be bakeout temperature and how will it be mounted with the cooling water pipe ? is brazing going to be ok?
- Give epoxy fiferglass protection tube dimentions
- Send an assembly sequence to EN-MME
- Design was sent to VSC for vacuum side check (A. Sinturel)
- Preliminary deadline given 30 Oct 2025 but it will be on best efforts and given how the production drawing + workshop discussion goes.
- # copies requested for now will be 1 gun.
- EN-MME will go to workshop to review the 3D design, before starting production drawing, and come back in 2 weeks time from now
