Weekly chat on High Level Reco for FCC

Europe/Zurich

[Anna] First validation histograms, as I do them there is many follow up questions that I have:

  • why is for 5 GeV mu a drop in eficiency for central barrel (counterintuitive ?) : check the truth tracking to see if it’s not the effect of tracking
  • are the links reco-MC done properly? [Dolores] MLPF checks on the cell level (association to MC), [Anna] either do this or check Linking algorithm
  • [from Giovanni] run the calibration for CLD to see MIP peaks etc, the pandora analysis script

[Giovanni] presentation attached

[Sara] Still working on fixing the reconstructed primary vertex in full sim. I gave an update yesterday in the full sim meeting. Conclusion: d0 is not completely fixed by fixing the PV but already a lot better. So let’s aim to fix the PV and then move on. The remaining discrepancy in d0 comparing fast and full sim comes from tracking, which will be a larger project to fix. Maybe even fast sim is wrong here. But with a fixed PV, d0 is reasonable / right order of magnitude.

[Lena] I started to refactor/polish the evaluation scripts for MLPF, which also compare the performance to the performance achieved with Pandora.

[Andrea] Working on the track finder for IDEA v3. We only need to define the plane on which left and right positions are defined (DC hits). Regarding the track fitting, I am in contact with Tadeas Bilka for knowledge tranfer from Belle II.
