ADTC meeting
AD/ ELENA: Francois showed the changes in the YETS planning wrt to the latest presentation. Changes mainly concern the date of the water leak repair close to ELENA ion source (end January). The switch to the small water pump will only occur on 5th January. The dates of swao of the 2 vertical transfer lines interface gate valves (STEP and TELMAX) have been slightly modified due to late delivery of the hardware. Also the maintenance date for the BTV’s in AD has been added.
PUMA: Mark showed the activities planned, which include the ramping up of the magnet and the installation of the off-line ion source. The cooling of the magnet with the cryocooler relies on demineralized water, but can also be operated with local chillers, so no issue expected with the end of the year demi water cut. The crane usage will be limited due to lock-out for electrical cables pulling and to avoid perturbations to GBAR data taking. The manipulations will be discussed with EN-EL (Rustan) and BASE a few days in advance.
GBAR: Jean-Yves explained that the LINAC will be under maintenance and operation alternatively. The pbar line will also be serviced, requiring occasional crane movements (preferably during BASE maintenance periods). The cabling operations will impact both the GBAR and LINAC zones, so close coordination will be needed. Rustan will discuss off-line with Jean Yves to find the best solutions. GBAR requested operation of ELENA with Hminus during W50. This will most likely not be possible as maintenance work is planned on ELENA and the ion source starting on 8th December and the SysAdmin days (affecting all BE-CSS control systems for accelerators) are scheduled as of 9th Dec This is TBC with Laurette. It was also noted that the LINAC cannot be operated before the DSO tests planned on 19th January.
AEgIS: Malgorzata showed the plan of activities, which include the operation of the magnet during W50 and cooling plus restart towards end of February. This may conflict with the cryoplants maintenance period, which is not known precisely yet (expected towards end February, dates to be announced in January only…).
ALPHA: Adam explained that ALPHA-g will be operated during W50 while ALPHA-2 will be disassembled. In February, operation of ALPHA-g will resume, and ALPHA-2 will be baked. This plan may be affected by the cryogenic plant shutdown schedule.
The finishing of the works on the platform over the barrack can resume as of the start of the YETS, depending on the availability of personnel.
ASACUSA 1 and 2: Eric showed the plan of activities, which include magnets on till 12th December, and minor handling works during January and February and restart of the magnets in March.
BASE: Bela explained that precision measurements are planned as of 8th Dec till 21st of January, which are extremely sensitive to any perturbation, in particular magnetic, and also to variation of pressure in the He recovery line. Therefore, it is requested to respect as much as possible the proposed planning (perturbation kept to the maintenance periods: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9h – 16h). In particular, no activity should be scheduled at night which is the best moment for accurate measurements. The cabling operations will interfere with this programme, but Rustan is in contact with Barbara to limit the impact.
TELMAX: The interface gate valve with ELENA will replaced on 6th January, and the new interface will be installed. PAX will remove the equipment connected in December and Michael confirmed that PAX can adapt to the new interface. A new measurement campaign is scheduled for March.
AOB: next meeting is planned for the 11th December at 14h for the YETS planning follow-up.
