Follow-up and Discussion:
- Next Meeting:
- Updates on emittance measurement for the foil/no-foil case (D. Cooke)
- Results from simulations (J. Farmer)
- Spectrometer Dark Room & Light Transport Mirrors
-
- Not needed for Run 2c.
- To do: Decision to be made at the next TB meeting.
- Spectrometer Design & Integration
-
- M. Turner communicated the new spectrometer design to integration.
- Magnets have been included in the drawings at approximate positions.
- To do: D. Cooke to verify and confirm magnet positions.
- To do: Follow up on the implementation of the OSR diagnostic.
OSR Diagnostic (D. Ghosal)
- The diagnostic can be implemented either on-axis or off-axis.
- To do: M. Turner to follow up with integration and the Liverpool team to identify feasible options.
- For the on-axis geometry, a chamber should follow the dipole directly.
- Window material options: fused silica or BK7.
- To do: D. Ghosal to define the window size for the off-axis geometry after receiving beam parameter inputs.
- Emittance could not yet be retrieved from previous measurements; new measurements are planned for spring.
- To do: D. Ghosal & J. Wolfenden to prepare a presentation for the Physics Board explaining what the diagnostic can achieve with AWAKE parameters and its approximate setup.
- To do: D. Ghosal to determine the emittance measurement range after receiving beam parameters.
Electron Beam Energy Analysis (F. Pannell)
- F. Pannell continues to analyze energy gain measurements.
- The 90th percentile analysis is proving challenging due to low signal levels.
