Description

We investigate a framework for dark matter production based on conversion-driven freeze-out, a mechanism that allows thermalization of dark matter despite very weak interactions. While this scenario naturally evades conventional WIMP searches, it leads to distinctive signals in the form of long-lived particles at colliders, making it a key target for current and future LHC searches. Remarkably, the out-of-equilibrium dynamics present in this scenario additionally enable successful baryogenesis from the same interactions, offering a common origin for both dark and baryonic matter.
