Differential Higgs observables and measurements

,Alessandro Tarabini is a CMS member since 2020. He earned his PhD in 2023 at the Laboratorie Leprince-Ringuet of the Institute Polytechnique de Paris, École Polytechnique, FR. He is now a postdoc researcher at the ETH Zurich, CH. His research activity mainly focuses on studying the Higgs boson properties through precision measurements of its cross sections in the two high-resolution channels: diphoton and four-lepton final state. He is currently convenor of the CMS “Higgs to Gamma Gamma” physics analysis group.
Roberto's bio:
Cross section measurements are one of the most powerful to study the Higgs boson properties, probing its couplings and kinematics, and testing theoretical predictions. In this seminar, after motivating the importance of the study of differential distribution in the Higgs sector, we will present an overview of the experimental methods for their measurements, focussing in particular on the pt distribution.
