Description

Halide organic-inorganic materials were classified as attractive semiconducting materials [1]. Such hybrid materials with amino acids are proposed for this aim [2]. Among these, halogenostannates demonstrated an unprecedented level of tunability in bandgaps across the entire visible spectrum [3]. We hereby present seven new halogenostannates with amino acids glycine (Gly), sarcosine (Sar), dimethylglycine (DMG), betaine (Bet) and -alanine (-Ala): (GlyH)2SnBr6·2H2O (s.g. P21/c, Z=2), (SarH···SarH)2SnBr6 (s.g. P1 ̅, Z=1), (DMGH)2SnBr6·2H2O (s.g. P21/n, Z=2), (BetH···BeH)2SnBr6 (s.g. P21/n, Z=2), (-AlaH···-AlaH)2SnBr6 (s.g. P21/n, Z=4), (-AlaH)2SnCl6 (s.g. P21/c, Z=4), (-AlaH)2SnCl4 (s.g. P21/m, Z=2) and (SarH)2SnCl4 (s.g. C2/c, Z=4). In salts (GlyH)2SnBr6·2H2O, (SarH···SarH)2SnBr6, (DMGH)2SnBr6·2H2O, (BetH···BeH)2SnBr6, (-AlaH···-AlaH)2SnBr6 and (-AlaH)2SnCl6 anions have zero-dimensional (0D) structure, while in (-AlaH)2SnCl4 and (SarH)2SnCl4 anions have one-dimensional (1D) structure. In the structures of (SarH···SarH)2SnBr6, (BetH···BeH)2SnBr6 and (-AlaH···-AlaH)2SnBr6, an (A+···A+) type dimeric cation exists.
