Description
The results of theoretical and Geant4 simulations studies of the spectral and angular distributions of the radiation generated by a charged particle crossing a dielectric ball, inserting in vacuum, are presented. Previously, for non dispersive dielectric ball it was shown that for certain values of the problem parameters the radiation can exhibit a resonant character in narrow frequency ranges. In the present presentation, we show that taking into account dispersion can lead to the possibility of generation of powerful radiation in a fairly wide frequency range. The results of Geant4 simulations are also given for more realistic case, when the electron flying through a vacuum channel in a dielectric ball.
