Integration of the new benchmark in the accounting workflow

Europe/Zurich

Attended:

Adrian, Cecilia, Carlos, Alessandro, Renato, Maris, Julia

EGI portal

The EGI portal (frontend) has been rolled back. Josep is investigating and addressing issues with the APIs. Julia suggested testing the new version on the staging instance once it is ready.

On the backend, a new implementation now enables tracking of the benchmark tag. The next update is planned for either next week or the following one.

A postmortem report is currently in preparation.

CRIC vs GocDB and EGI Portal Topology Consistency

Julia reported that Panos has developed a new script to check consistency between CRIC, GocDB, and the EGI portal topology. The CRIC vs GocDB part is complete. Julia thanked Alessandro for submitting the necessary tickets. However, the CRIC vs EGI portal topology check could not be completed due to broken APIs. Once the API issues are resolved, the script will be finalized and handed over to the QUANTA team to ensure CRIC and the EGI portal topology remain in sync.

APEL Updates

Adrian presented slides, followed by a discussion on planned changes to the APEL client to enable token-based authentication. This discussion will continue offline between Adrian, Tom, Maarten, and Julia.

Adrian asked how we ansure that sites report benchmark information. Julia asked Adrian to draft a technical guide outlining the required actions for sites regarding the APEL client. Once prepared, Alessandro and Julia will send a broadcast to encourage proper reporting of benchmark data.

Maria reported that she has been sending data to the testing infrastructure and will coordinate with Adrian to verify what has been received on the APEL side.

Per-Job Accounting Records

Alessandro noted that there has been no response regarding the need for user-level accounting and individual job records in the EGI portal. If this functionality is deemed unnecessary, it could simplify the accounting workflow.

If it is confirmed that this functionality is not needed, EGI and WLCG operations teams will send a broadcast to sites, along with APEL’s technical recommendations, encouraging the submission of summary or normalized records instead of individual job records. If user-level accounting is not required, the corresponding view in the EGI portal can be removed.

Next Meeting
