  • The latest inventory list with some updates highlighted can be found under the shared CERNBOX folder: https://cernbox.cern.ch/s/npUNhViidjoQB30
  • A total of 13 main equipment groups are expected to exceed 2 mSv/h at 10 cm, out of which 6 are magnets (2-5 mSv/h) that will go to radioactive storage on the Prevessin site
  • Focus during this meeting was set on the 7 equipment groups to be sent to RWTCS and therefore transported on public road
    • Target station shielding
      • The target station is made from cast iron blocks with a total mass of 82.5 tons split into 10 blocks ranging from 5.7 - 10.2 tons
      • The target station blocks are to be separated
      • Action/Nicolas to provide information from the 3d model on the segmentation of the shielding
      • Action/Elzbieta to update the FLUKA model according to the segmentation and provide fluences and dose rates for each separate block
      • Action/Nicolas is working on a dismantling procedure/sequence and packaging proposal. Priority is to be set on the target station and TAX
      • If possible, items to be packed directly in the final disposal containers : analyses must be done to cross check with ANDRA acceptance criteria (RN inventory, material, dimensions to inform RIBA on the faisablity (supplier for the container), thickness of concrete required, etc.)
    • Action/Philippe to provide info (e.g. internal dimensions, max. load) about available transport containers and add first container proposals for each equipment to the inventory
    • Target box + Be target, CuCrZr collimator, Cu plates and TCX collimator should be fine in view of rather small dimensions/masses. Shielding to be defined once packaging is known
    • Cu insert + W
      • LSA-II limit would be exceeded for a cool-down of 1y2m, but after 2 years should be fine. Transport can be foreseen after 2 years cool-down
    • TAX
      • The TAX is made from GG20 and copper blocks of a total of ~29 tons
      • Due to the large weight some dismantling in TCC8 is required, which is to be investigated by Nicolas/Action
    • Action/Elzbieta to analyse residual dose rates data for target station, Cu insert + W and TAX for July 2028
