Ga run switch to hrs was performed on wednesday evening.

Laser stabilization issue reported by users on thursday evening, fixed the issue onfriday morning.

No laser issues were reported since then.

On Thur/fri [10/04-11/04] rilis setup for Mn run will be performed.

      MEDICIS

      Last Week

      • VD-5 TaC testing in the framework of Patricija's PhD.
        • Fluoride molecules with CF4 injection.
        • Noticable CO+ outgassing from the target.
      • Indirect irradiation of TaC for Tb run during the week-end.
        • Small delay placing the target on low trolley - trolley was not fully at back position, however switch indicated good position.

      This Week

      • VD5 TaC testing in the framework of Patricija's PhD.
        • The temperature sensor on target feedthrough did not show increased temperature on the target (>116 oC). Cooling - to be also tested during direct irradiation on thursday.
        • Fluoride molecules with CF4 injection.
      • Direct irradiation of TaC for Tb run → target will be sent on the high trolley on Thursday afternoon 14:30.
        • Tb collection continued - If enough activity >1 MBq collected, sample will be shipped to NPL, UK.

      Next week

      • Tb-run (Patricija PhD) continued.
      • ThC loading inside the target with target testing and pumping on MEDICIS FE.

      Class A

      • New firefighter training yesterday morning
      • Visit from Cheryl Saban tomorrow
      • Visit from the french upper chamber senate thurs
      • Door to ventilation room fixed
      • CV
        • R-001 & R-002 -> fumehood ventilation was followed up last week, it seems it might not be a ventilation flow rate issue but instead the filters require changing
        • R-025 -> the fume cupboard extraction damper opening setpoint must be adjusted directly on the damper using a special device. On the hunt for said special device. At the moment nobody has this adjustment box (if we ever order it from the damper supplier).
        • nano alarm -> we know it comes from the pressure in the room not being maintained when the fume cupboard is in use. Tests ongoing.
        • target area sas ->delta P not showing correct values, need to follow up and see if there is a connection issue
        • MEDICIS GB -> new gauge on order
    • 14:40 14:50
      Targets, Schedule and Physics 10m

      Physics

On GPS, the run with neutron-rich Ga beams to IDS was completed successfully. The next run, on HRS, sends neutron-deficient Ga beams to the Total Absorption gamma Spectrometer (TAS) to measure full beta-decay intensities, relevant for electroweak studies and constraining the Vud matrix element of the CKM matrix. Despite a one-day delay in start due to difficulties in obtaining safety clearance, the run is progressing well.

      Schedule

      • TAS run will be extended with 1 day
      • Quentin -> Plan for quad scans on Thursday
      • Next part of schedule until mid-July to be published this week
      • Derogation for protons?

      Safety/AOB

      • Zero tolerance policy from EP safety
        • Ad-hoc requests for Oscar
      • Crane
      • Winter physics only on GLM?
      • GLM annealing chamber
      • Fumehood GLM
