Description

Objectives:

The Faculty of Applied Sciences Ait Melloul is honored to organize this workshop entitled "Perspectives from the African Strategy Development and Opportunities for Morocco." This workshop is held in anticipation of the Open Symposium of the African Strategy for Fundamental and Applied Physics (ASFAP) and the African Conference of Physics (ACP2025), scheduled to take place at the University of Lomé, Togo, from September 14 to 25, 2025.

The workshop aims to provide Moroccan researchers, educators, and policymakers with valuable insights into the ongoing development of ASFAP and to explore the strategic opportunities these continental initiatives offer for advancing Morocco’s scientific research and education in materials science and applied physics. It also highlights the pivotal role of the African Materials Research Society (AMRS) in fostering collaboration and capacity building across Africa.

Participants will discuss how Morocco can actively contribute to ASFAP working groups, leverage pan-African networks, and strengthen its national research and innovation landscape to align with Africa’s broader scientific agenda.

Target Audience:

Faculty members, doctoral students, master’s students, industry partners, research institutions, and  stakeholders.
