This is the timeline that was used by JLAB for picking the next location

• Oct 4 2022 - Call for LOIs went out                    (7 months out)
• Nov 1 2022 - submission deadline for non-binding LOI   (6 months out)
• Dec 1 2022 - down-select and request for full proposal (5 months out)
• Mar 1 2023 - deadline for full proposal submission     (2 months out)
• Apr 1 2023 - shoot for final decision                  (1 month out)
• May 1 2023 - hard deadline for final decision

 

Trying to be a bit more relaxed we could do

• Jun 1, 2025 - Call for LOIs out                    (11 months out from hard deadline)
• Sep 1, 2025 - submission deadline for non-binding LOI   (7 months out from hard deadline)
• Nov 1, 2025 - down-select and request for full proposal (5 months out from hard deadline)
• Feb 1, 2026 - deadline for full proposal submission     (2 months out from hard deadline)
• Mar 1, 2026 - shoot for final decision                  (1 month out from hard deadline)
• Apr 1, 2026 - hard deadline for final decision
• May 23, 2026: CHEP 2026 

 

The rationale is that the LOI are nowadays rather complete, and they require some time.
