ResearCH goes Wiki
How can your research reach beyond academia and contribute to a more informed society?
Wikipedia is one of the most-visited websites worldwide and a key gateway to scientific knowledge for the general public on the Internet. This makes it an ideal platform for science communication. Join us for our hands-on “ResearCH goes Wiki” workshop and discover how to share your expertise with a global audience via Wikipedia. Together, we’ll explore how to write for the world’s largest encyclopedia and contribute to public understanding of science.
The workshop is divided into two parts: In part one, we’ll introduce you to the basics of Wikipedia editing, key guidelines, and the inner workings of the community. In part two, you’ll receive individual support as you create or revise articles related to your area of expertise. The workshop is led by Flurin Beuggert, science communication expert at Science et Cité, and Diego Hättenschwiler, long-time Wikipedian.
This workshop is co-organized with the foundations Science et Cité and Wikimedia CH. More information about the project can be found here.
