Preparation for SiC Campaign

• Timeframe: week of DRD3 + week after (2 May to 13 May)

Goal – Deepen knowledge on SiC TPA-TCT; understand/optimize fast readout with SiC samples

Pin:

• Get signals – clean waveforms, then start scans:

  • Very fine z-scan (50 µm active region)

  • Intensity scan, look for plasma effect

LGAD:

• Same as pin – study gain and gain suppression

Samples

Bruce Schumm:

• Sent SiC from China with fast readout board to Marcos

• Board was received at CERN (unboxing during meeting)

CERN – Prague:

• SiC from Onsemi

• Readout with CVIDEC current amplifier

• mw: Inventory of samples to be done – get a pin and a LGAD

Vienna:

• SiC pin from CNM (new batch)

• mm: Ivan to pay the invoice (RFF) – check.

Sample Mounting:

• mw/mfg: PCB 15 was used in Bilbao before – to be clarified

• Note: Santander has no possibility for wire bonding from Wednesday.

 

Participants / Preparation of Campaign

• Monday 26.5: Oscilloscope (4 GHz, 25 Gs/s) from Santander to Bilbao (1.5h drive)

  • Cristian to help with setup

• 1st week – Cristian, Raul

• 2nd week – Diego, Raul, Ivan (if feasible), Moritz

  • Clarify with Moritz first/second week – most likely on second week

  • First week – samples to go with Moritz

  • Second week – ship samples immediately (Monday)

mw/mm: Check if we could use the Chinese SiC at CERN with a CVIDEC during the test campaign
