Minutes of the DRD 7.6b Meeting – May 23, 2025

In-Person Forum on 3D Integration Technologies

A dedicated work package forum on 3D integration technologies is planned for July 2025, hosted at KIT.

·        The forum will address strategic directions, emerging integration technologies, and their relevance to next-generation large-area solid-state detectors.

·        The ALICE collaboration will be invited to present their requirements for future large-area detector technologies.

·        Industrial partners, particularly FBK, will provide insights into ongoing research on establishing European-based production of low-material, aluminium-polyimide, large-area multi-metal stack structures. Opportunities for collaboration will also be discussed.

Competences & Processes Mapping

 

Michele encouraged all participants to complete the "Competences & Processes" Excel sheet, available in the Keeper shared space curated by Laci.

this mapping effort aims to document existing know-how and capabilities across the DRD 7.6b consortium to support coordination and synergy among partners.

Pilot Project – Requirements and Layout Definition

Laci presented a potential strategy for the development of a "fast" interposer demonstrator prototype. The proposal includes reusing existing structures already available from previous production runs, allowing for rapid turnaround.

·        The team is currently evaluating this approach.
