Description

Would you be interested in joining a knowledge exchange network for PhD students at CERN?

We had an idea: to create something like a knowledge tandem — a space where we can say “my knowledge for yours.” At CERN, many of us work on interdisciplinary projects and often need to navigate topics outside our main field. Having someone to discuss with, ask questions, or exchange tips can make a huge difference.

Maybe you're great at something others find tricky, or maybe you're facing challenges outside your expertise. The idea is to connect with fellow PhDs who can share insights — and do the same in return.

We’re also thinking of organizing informal presentations by and for PhD students — more structured than a chat with friends, but more relaxed than a formal conference. A great way to practice presenting and discover what others are working on.

This is a new initiative, and we’re open to shaping it together! Right now, we’re simply looking to see who’s interested. We plan to organize a kick-off meeting to better understand everyone’s needs and ideas.

IdeaSquare has offered us their space for this! We don’t have a date yet, but once we know who’s in, we’ll coordinate a first gathering.

If you'd like to be part of it — whether to give, receive, or just join the conversation — please fill in the Indico form, and we’ll keep you updated on the next steps.

Important: The date is still to be confirmed — it will be set once we know how many people are interested and have reviewed the survey responses.

If you'd like to be part of this — whether to give, receive, or just join the conversation — please fill out the short survey when registering
