To be followed-up:

  • vacuum vessel recovery
  • gas connection (long proto): L-shaped connector, position on the side of the manifold
  • material of spacers
  • HV and RO boards wrt straw layout
    • make them rounded to have more space on the sides
    • only read out a "cross" of straws - gain space in the corners
  • gas manifold material
  • how to ensure planarity of HV and FE boards
  • how to guide the support tube in the vacuum vessel
  • guides or rails for turning the supporting tube in the vacuum vessel
  • alignment and positioning of the support tube wrt vacuum vessel
  • tooling
  • if we had long straws, should we equip the intermediate prototype first?

      Updates
      Speaker: straw-proto-wg

      Short prototype:

      Zuzana:

      • ultem and brass pieces machined, will be delivered to apropriate labs for metalization this afternoon
      • thorough review of drawings has begun

      Peter:

      • solution to bring HV connection outside - produce new PCB

      Intermediate prototype:

      Zuzana:

      • researching companies to manufacture ultem and brass pieces for straw HV connection
      • waiting for Minitubes crimp tubes (delivery probably delayed due to company being closed until August 18)

      Long prototype:

      Zuzana:

      • recovery of the vacuum vessel has begun

      Peter:

      • RO side: plastic pin in the center of the flange to ensure planarity of the HV board
      • gas manifold should be made of Optalloy
      • very limited space for electronics in the corners and on the sides
      • Spacers: due to cross-talk, it is better to use glass fiber - kapton sandwich

      Vincent:

      • added ball bearings to the support tube
