      Physics

      • On GPS, ¹⁶²Yb beams were sent to Miniball for the second experiment in their plunger campaign, aimed at measuring lifetimes of excited states. Combined with standard Coulomb excitation measurements, the goal is to determine the deformation of these bands, including possible triaxiality. The experiment has been running smoothly, with no major issues from the machine side, and the users are satisfied. The run will continue for one additional day after the technical stop to complete the Coulomb excitation part of the experiment.

        • RP piquet was called over the weekend

      Schedule

      • Stable beam for Miniball
        • After this run

      Safety, AOB, visits 5m

I would like to announce an AOB for the ISOLDE TC meeting this afternoon. On Thursday I’ll be testing the AUL in 508 at 2pm. All the buttons have been tested previously, so I don’t anticipate any unforeseen power cuts.

I’ll be testing the AUL in the workshop, if anyone else is happy for me to test their AUL (laser labs, solid state labs), please let me know and I will also test them. I’ll do another test in a few weeks to take in any areas I don’t manage to get done this time.

Speakers: Alexander Schmidt, Alexandre Dorsival (CERN), Elodie Aubert (CERN), Hanne Heylen (CERN), Line Le, Melania Averna (CERN), Mia Au (CERN), Nadine Conan (CERN), Oscar Fjeld (CERN), Simon Mataguez (CERN)

ISOLDE - Fresh air ventilation stop
Working are progressing well, EN-CV plan to finish by 6PM tonight.
If possible they will restart tonight (preferable), if not by tomorrow morning at 8AM.

      • Flammable gas lines: responsible person - Oscar?
      • 508 AUL tests
