WP2: Status meeting #26
- AoB
- it was decided not to add any additional PCs in P42 → agreed at the meeting
- there is no evidence from simulations that would be needed and cannot just ask for more
- we will have to wait to LS4 in case we want another one now
- we can still request for re-organization of some elements if needed
- Assessment of need of laminated correctors in P42
- need to give numbers in A/s on the correctors (FV action)
- Philip and Thomas seem to be OK with the numbers shown, but can only confirm when the A/s for each corrector are shown
- FV to followup with OP on the instability seen in H
Miguel Lino presented and overview of the P42 vacuum consolidation as planned for NA-CONS and then the changes requested by HI-ECN3.
- low 10^-3 mbar is the best that can be achieved with the current primary vacuum pumping group technology.
- an overview of changes was presented of what has to be removed, even it put back in place but at a different height / transverse position.
- to fully predict the performance of the future installation we need simulations and these new simulations (not previously done) need to be benchmarked.
- for the end of P42, it is important to note that the beamline is realigned to a new height and transverse position. This implies the removal and reinstallation of many sections of vacuum and new supports.
- iteration needed with WP3 and WP4 for exact interface to BDF
- the larger dilution chamber and the sector valves therein dominate the cost.
- resources will be required to do the technical study
- Thomas: all needed information provided? yes - p4 quite clear.
- highlighted that the changeovers in P42 are foreseen for the 2x YETS after LS3 but there is a large quantity of work required and these YETS could be quite busy irrespective.
- the dilution chamber would require a study - depending on the concept and timeline. This year would not be possible.
