Abstract:

We present the results of a study of the di-jet mass spectrum in association with a W boson. This signature has merited additional scrutiny since the CDF collaboration observed a significant excess in the spectrum localized near 150 GeV. Our results correspond to 5.0 fb-1 of data, collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. We observe no excess in the mass region of interest and set limits on the production cross section of such an excess. We also place limits on Technicolor and Z’ models, proposed to explain the excess observed by CDF.
