Abstract:

I will provide an overview of the Standard Model W/Z measurements in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV using data collected by the ATLAS experiment in 2010-2011. I will discuss the measurements of inclusive W and Z production cross-sections, W lepton charge asymmetry, strange quark density in the proton, and polarization of the W boson, and will emphasize how these measurements provide new constraints on the Parton Distribution Functions. I will then present measurements of W and Z production in association with jets and compare the data with the predictions of perturbative QCD and a selection of event generators.
