Abstract:

We will review the spin correlations present in top quark decays and discuss the effects of new heavy scalars in the production and decay of top quark pairs at the LHC. We will show how the CP nature of such a scalar may be determined from the azimuthal correlations in the decay products of the top quarks, while highlighting the difficulties arising from the interference of the pure signal with the dominant QCD process.
