2.86 GeV DR acceptance
DR Dynamic Acceptance using RF Track
Participants: Andrea (chair), Antonio, Catia, Alexey, Iryna, Paolo (minutes), Fahad, Yongke, Yuting
Andrea and Yongke presented the first results on the dynamic acceptance of the Damping Ring (DR) using RF track simulations.
These results are consistent with those previously presented by Antonio (using PTC track) during the FCC week.
The study demonstrates that it is possible to define 6D acceptance cuts based on a given lattice and the initial bunch distribution.
Two main approaches are being considered:
· Beam Shaping from the Positron Linac Side: Using collimators and an energy compressor to shape the incoming beam so that it fits within the DR acceptance cuts.
· Lattice Optimization: Improving the DR lattice design to achieve an ideal acceptance as close as possible to 100%.
Action Items:
· DR Lattice Optimization: Antonio and Catia will work on an improved DR lattice and present the results in a dedicated meeting at the end of September. Antonio will send out the meeting invitation.
· RF Track Simulations: Andrea and Yongke will continue RF track simulations using the existing DR lattice for the 1.54 GeV DR. Antonio will provide the necessary lattice files.
· Parameter Table: A table with relevant parameters for the longitudinal plane will be prepared.
