Abstract

This ENTM concerns the design of helium cooling station for the target of future Beam Dump Facility (BDF) as part of High Intesity-ECN3 (HI-ECN3) project. The presentation will cover the user’s requirements and technical solution; it will focus on the different technological choices and operations modes.

The presentation will also report on the detailed design and manufacturing of a helium (gas) cooling skid to cool a target prototype that will be installed in TA801/TCC2 during YETS 25/26 and tested in the subsequent run until start of LS3. This skid is part of the bigger campaign to validate helium as a suitable solution to cool the final production BDF target.
