5th Injection Region Design meeting

Sextupole magnet space conflict:
* Proposal to shave ~3 cm off the sextupole magnet — not yet confirmed as Philip is on vacation.
* Action: Marlene to invite Philip to the meeting with GWA next week.

Electron Beam Envelope
* Eleonora shared the electron beam envelope near the injection point with Jim.
* Magnet positions do not need to be moved due to the movers; Nicolas indicated he can find a way to fit them.

Beam Waist Position
* In the most recent drawing, the beam waist is ~25 cm closer to the last quadrupole than in the beamline optics design--> in case of a change a re-evaluation, including error studies, is required.
  → Action: Discuss waist placement with GWA next week.
* The waist should be as close as possible to the dipole (to reduce plasma gap size), but it may be problematic if located within the dipole’s fringe fields or inside the magnet.
  → Action: Eleonora to check whats feasibile and determine how far outside the magnet the fringe fields extend and obtain field maps for these magnets from Philip.
  → Action: Eleonora Confirm that the fringe fields used in simulations match the real fringe fields closely enough to avoid optics issues

→ Action: Patric Check with GWA if the screen setup (located at the waist) would interfere with the dipole field or fringe fields.

BPMs
* Question: Can the BPM also be attached to the expansion volume?
  → Action: Ask BI team if this would pose a problem with alignment.

Updated Drawing

Nicolas’ updated drawing should be uploaded ahead of the Thursday, 7 August meeting to ensure everyone is working from the same version.
