Description
We analyze the consequences on current flavour-physics data of a suitably broken U(2)^3 flavour symmetry acting on the first two generations of quarks. We discuss in particular the virtues of this flavour symmetry in the framework of "effective supersymmetry", or the minimal supersymmetric extension of the SM with heavy first two generation of squarks. Possible future tests of $U(2)^3_{\rm flavour}$ effective supersymmetry by means of future flavour-physics data are also briefly discussed.
