Description

An update on recent developments in the middleware and software stack available to users of the UK National Grid Service.

This event is aimed at existing users of the NGS and requires attendees to bring their own laptops and to use their own UK certificate and NGS account during the practicals.

Attendees are required to ensure (prior to the event) that their laptops are able to connect to ngsui01.ngs.rl.ac.uk using the Java web start GSI-SSH client found at http://www.grid-support.ac.uk/content/view/81/61/. There are 3 ways to use GSI-SSH, but this precise test will ensure that several of the practicals can be run successfully. Please be careful to do this test using Java web start from Sun Java 1.6 SDK (note the version number) or above .
