Engineering meeting #2 - Status Update

Attendees: Daphne Vassilena Beaujoint, Pavan Chaganti, Arnaud Pascal Foussat, Gonzalo Hernando Irisarri, Mikko Karppinen, Javier Osuna, Juan Carlos Perez, Ignacio Perez De Lazarraga Viguri, Francois-Olivier Pincot, Vendela Catharina Roxenborg, Nicolas Peray, Nicola Sala, Ezio Todesco, Nicholas Lusa, Dimitrios Tolis.

During this meeting: 

• we introduced the projects of people absent in the first meeting
• Ignacio Perez De Lazarraga Viguri: CHIC project, working on the impregnation mold design
• Nicholas Lusa: Mostly field operation, also smaller technical projects as the BOND reaction mock-up
• Pavan Chaganti: HV tests, ITER wires, SMC electrical test plan
• Francois-Olivier Pincot: 927 infrastructure (10-stack press, winding clutch, braiding machine,...)
• Arnaud Pascal Foussat: D2 with INFN, MCBRD with HIHEP, Falcon-D for HFM, sextupole for FCC-ee
• Nicolas Peray: BOND engineering design, now working on the impregnation mold
• Mikko Karppinen: MQ with Tesla, MQ for FCC-hh (design on-going, already advanced)
• Dimitrios Tolis: BOND drawings
• Nicola Sala: Falcon-D, LMK1 design, mechanics and follow-up.
• we updated some project status following what was added on the shared doc.
• we brainstormed on some topics that could be discussed in smaller groups in the next meetings:
• Mold design for desizing through heat treatment
• Static mechanical structure for magnets
• Toward industrialization, reducing part number
• Status and prospect for mechanical instrumentation
• Protection of hybrid magnets
• ESC coil fabrication and implementation
• Electrical criteria and validation methods in coil design

 

Ariel will come up in the next days with some kind of program.
