MEDICIS
Last Tb-155 run of the year happened last week with the new target material developped by Patricija (TaC-carbon nano tubes).
This week we have the ThO2 from SCK CEN back on the FE as part of the PhD of Lisa GUBBELS on Ac-225 production.
We have #805M being parasitically irradiated for a new Sc-47 run.
The Sc-47 will be shipped to LV for the 1st time.
We will place a target to catch the last indirect protons until 08th of Dec to pill-up long half life RN activity for next year operation.
On Friday we receive an external source of Sm-153 from POLATOM for a last mass separation of this RN that will be shipped to Heidelberg in Germany.

Physics
On GPS, the goal was to measure the mean square charge radius of ¹⁷F via laser spectroscopy at COLLAPS. A development target was used meaning the yields and the level of contamination were not certain beforehand. COLLAPS also used a new experimental setup was. In general, they faced several challenges with higher than expected stable contamination and a number of interruptions due to issues at ISOLDE. After a first measurement of one ¹⁷F peak, they concluded that a full hyperfine spectrum would be out of reach and stopped the run one night before the planned end. Nevertheless, they did not leave unhappy, since they gained valuable knowledge that will help them tackle this case successfully after LS3.
On HRS, neutron-rich Ni beams are being studied via laser spectroscopy in the context of nuclear structure evolution around N = 40. A special LIST target was used to reduce the expected Ga contamination, although it also reduces the Ni yield, and the PI LIST mode allows for high resolution in source laser spectroscopy which is important for medium mass nuclei such as Ni. With yields that are orders of magnitude lower than expected and several issues, the full programme will be out of reach but it seems that new physics can be obtained on 69Ni.
