CMS Operations ReportSpeaker: Katy Ellis (Science and Technology Facilities Council STFC (GB))
Katy is still at CERN until tonight, for the OTF. The topics are:
Tuesday - XRootD, some really nice talks, especially from Guilherme on why XRootD is used in HEP, and some very pleasing improvements for version 6.0 and beyond.
Wednesday (this afternoon) - new accounting PEAR, CRIC, and DC27 discussion of dates and scope.
Operations: SAM tests failing for data-access type tests using certificates. Restart of the AAA servers has not helped. I can access the file one of the tests is trying to use, and download it using gfal-copy. Jyothish is also investigating.
Issue with /unmerged/ files (some, not all?) not being cleaned up. The CMS system relies on a search of the /store/unmerged/ directory...of course this does not apply on Echo, so the system will never work. Jyothish is deleting everything from 2024 and before, which will free some space. We will discuss future treatment when I'm back.

LHCb Operations ReportSpeaker: Alexander Rogovskiy (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory)
News:
- LHCb requested to verify pledges and their deployment timescale GGUS:1002186
- LHCb is a bit low on disk
Operational issues:
- ECHO rack power outage last Monday evening
- Caused massive transfer and job failures
- Fixed within a couple of hours
- Failed transfers from PIC to RAL-ECHO
- These are the tests of the new tape library at PIC that i am doing
- PIC asked to test tape recalls, and at the same time discouraged the used of their local disk SE, hence RAL is used as a destination
- Seems to be a certificate problem on one of the PIC servers
- The failures can be safely ignored
- These are the tests of the new tape library at PIC that i am doing
- A few buggy productions submitted yesterday
- Many jobs were killed due to memory excess
