The ML Technical Forum aims at improving knowledge sharing and transfer within the section. It is meant to be a informal forum where project and knowledge are shared within the section.

09:00 → 09:10 Intro to the Technical Forum

ML Tech Forum objectives and format:
- Projects technical discussions;
- knowledge transfer on different technologies (Mechanical design, drawings, vacuum, impedance..);
- knowledge transfer within the section across different projects.

Proposed to have a meeting with a dedicated project talk and 1 knowledge transfer (vacuum, mech eng for beam instru..)

Few open points were raised and worth a check:

• can the connectors be female and not male, to avoid having pins on the vacuum flange;
• 35 C is the max the TimePix4 can afford during operation, without malfunctioning. Check the feasibility of a 3D printed cooling circuit to have active cooling beneath the detector. Continue exploring the possibility of a passive plate with forced external air convection.
• any possibility to have the copper plate coming out of the flange and cool that externally?
• any material we could recover locally even from the upper part of the instrument so that we can have a thicker cooling plate?
• address the possible cooling needs for the instrument itself due to impedance

General info sharing:

• issue with the 304L grade bought by CERN: worst nuance in terms of magnetic permeability and it seems out of specs. As communication went between AP and Stores directly we did not actively checked ourselves. Warning to everyone, always check the compliance of the material certificate before starting manufacturing.
• Lauren reports an automated way to import patterns of holes with a Macro in Catia, not to waste time during the design
