Artificial Intelligence: New Perspectives in Art and Perception

Introductory text : Artificial Intelligence (AI) is often perceived as a purely technical field, yet its influence reaches far beyond algorithms and data. Today, AI is transforming artistic creation and, more profoundly, our perception of reality itself. Through generative models such as GANs and Diffusion networks, machines are not only assisting artists but co-creating with them—expanding imagination, challenging authorship, and redefining aesthetic experience. This talk explores how AI changes the way we see, imagine, and interpret the world. It invites us to reflect on perception—our trust in the senses, our sense of truth, and the evolving dialogue between human intuition and machine intelligence. Far from replacing creativity, AI acts as an amplifier of human perception, urging us to develop new forms of awareness, discernment, and wonder.

Short bio : Kerstin Petrick is an AI Skills & Strategy Coach, content creator, and researcher. With a background in restoration (Florence) and a PhD in Mineralogy (Karlsruhe), she worked as a scientist at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology before focusing on the intersection of art, creativity, and Artificial Intelligence. She has authored several essays and book chapters on AI and its societal impact, curated AI-based art projects such as the Prinz Gallery, and develops training programs to help companies and institutions integrate AI responsibly and creatively.
